Quilting/Sewing Table/Desk

For years, I have used an old fashioned sewing cabinet as my sewing table.  However, it's never worked very well.  I never seem to have room for whatever it is that I am working on.

Jonathan found this desk at a Mennonite garage sale for $10.  It's crammed in my living room for now, but after Kurt and I are married, it will go in our room.  It's perfect.  I have a top drawer for my scissors, pins, etc.  The drawers on either side are great for storing quilt blocks, charm packs, quilting patterns, even a work in progress.  I am so excited to finally have a place to work and have enough room to spread out my projects while I work!!

  1. I have a big old wooden office desk that I use for my sewing machine table too. You will really enjoy the storage in the drawers!

  2. Connie, beautiful picture of the tree at the top. Gring's Mill, maybe? I get an alert everyday from Google on things on the web sewing and quilted related, and today this blog post was on there. Didn't know if you knew, but thought you might be interested. Looks like a wonderful place for all your sewing things. Lots of drawers are always good.

  3. Ohhh how organised you are now going to be! Great lloking desk! I just love garage sales, and sometimes you find the most wonderful things. My sewing area is totally disorganised, and I keep promising myself that a clean up will be great! Nothing will be thrown away, I can tell you! But tidier would be nice!
