Sunbonnet Sue

These are the fabrics I chose for my Sunbonnet Sue quilt. Hannah and I had a lot of fun at Burkholders - going up and down every aisle looking for the perfect tiny floral print fabric.

I have flirted around with several different types of quilts but have finally decided that applique is my absolute favorite. I've only done one applique quilt so far - my flip flop quilt, and it was a lot of fun. I am eager to get started on this Sunbonnet Sue quilt.

  1. Hi,
    From Lexington, KY!
Could you please post a pic of your Flip Flop Quilt. I recently made Eleanor's SunBonnet Sue quilt, took a very long time! I made the four corners in fabric relating to the 4 seasons. Quilt inaday has printed interfacing for the little dolls. I found some at a quilt store about 100 miles from where I live. You may find it in some of the shops close to you
(sounds like you have several in that area). I have enjoyed reading your Blog, especially the pics...the Amish country side & people.
